Why remove metadata from a photo?

What is EXIF metadata?
EXIF is information stored inside many image files. It can include the camera model, capture date, exposure settings, editing software and sometimes precise GPS location.
Does this tool remove GPS location from photos?
Yes. The image is decoded and rebuilt from its visible pixels, so the original EXIF block—including GPS coordinates—is not copied into the downloaded file.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Processing happens locally in your browser. Your original image and cleaned image are not sent to our server.
Which image formats are supported?
You can remove metadata from JPG, JPEG, PNG and WebP images up to 30 MB. The downloaded image keeps the same general format.
Can I remove metadata from multiple images?

Does removing metadata change image quality?
